Game takes WAY too long to load.

I click on Smite on Steam and then a launcher pops up right away and I hit "Play" then nothing happens for a good 2 minutes or so, then the game pops up. This wait time is far too long and needs to be fixed (although the problem might just be with me, but I have no way of knowing that).

Can you post a DXDIAG report so we can check your PC specs?

    Thanks!

I've noticed this too. But it didn't always take so long to boot up.
Only started taking long after a couple updates ago.

Have you recently fragmented your hard drive? You should try and see if that helps.

This has nothing to do with Graphics, Me and the guys i play with are having the exact same issue the OP is having since last patch. I run Smite at an almost consistant 60fps, and im using the Steam version (not that it matters since you use the ingame launcher to start it anyway).

Basically, the HiRez login launcher pops up, does its thing (I have it to auto remember my password), then the server authentication launcher pops up perfectly fine, does its thing and where before it would jump into the game with the Hi-Rez logo and then the Georgia peach log thing right after I hit 'play'... NOW once the authentication window is complete and you hit play the launcher simply goes away and the game appears to do nothing for a good minute to a minute and a half with no sign its doing anything for me (not even popping up any window or anything) then FINALLY pops into the game, although if ive clicked on anything else in that time (like firefox, or any other background app, and of note none of these other apps have caused issues with Smite before so its not them, and it does it even when Smites the only programmerunning) I wont know its gotten into game until i alt-tab my way through to the window, or notice its icons up in the taskbar.

And just a note, game runs perfectly, logs in fine and has done since I started playing... its just that since the last patch, (although i think theres been another since then) theres been this huge delay between clicking the authentication windows 'play' button, and the game actually starting up.

Nothing else has changed besides the fact theres been a patch... sure its not a big issue, but it is kinda annoying.

    What PresumptuousP said.
It takes forever to load up after hitting the play button, but everything else is exactly the same.
This started a couple patches ago.

    1) disable virusscanners / firewalls and see if there's your issue
    2) defragment your harddrive
    3) push the game on a SSD
    4) update drivers
    5) run some registry cleaner cccleaner or whatever its called

    see how it goes.

All you guys saying run this or scan that I'm sure are trying to help but arent. Put it this way. Bought a brand new alienware x51r3. gifted actually to me by my wife. Installed smite as one of the first games a few weeks ago and have had this problem the entire time on an almost factory new pc. all drivers updated, and in the time it took the game to launch I was able to look up this thread and almost type out this full reply. the game is broken HiRez please fix this

Same issue here, I run the game great, but takes FOREVER to load, like the OP said, about 2 minutes after clicking play. Something is wrong, not sure what it is. Also, FearFaktor mentioned he had an alienware x51r3, I have an x51 as well, not an r3, is everyone having this issue on an alienware?
