Every new game I've heard of has been cancelled.

I don't even have any faith in the gaming industry anymore.

    Dawngate has closed down apparently.

Stomping land was nothing but a scam to make money, right now people want to sue the guy who took all their money and ran away with it.

That transformers moba/mmo or w/e it was, was cancelled before it even left beta.

And now, infinite crisis (the DC comics moba) is being shut down for no apparent reason.

Honestly I'm half expecting smite to announce that its shutting down at this rate.

I can't even remember the last time I felt joy about anything. All I can see in this bullshit world is exponential decay, and abuse. I can't even remember the last time I actually felt happy about anything. Hell, I've hated the last 20 or so games I've paid for, I think the last time I actually enjoyed a game was warcraft 3 (or maybe even earlier than that, like spyro 3). I can't even see anything positive in this bullshit world, hell I've gotten to the point that I can't even understand how anything positive is even possible!

Right now, the only thing left in the entire fucking world that gives me any sort of positive feeling, is k-pop. Yeah, I'm a 28-year-old male that watches k-pop, and I don't find it all THAT amusing, really its just because its the only positive thing I can still see in this bullshit world, despite knowing how appalling the industry actually is.

I'm mostly just looking for a place to fucking vent. I don't know how anyone will respond to this thread, but I'm guessing the trolls are just gonna all jump on this. So fucking sick of trolls, sersiously I'm starting to wonder if there's anyone online at all who doesn't waste all fucking day making everyone else fucking miserable.

edit: And i have no idea why this thing is saying I'm on a new account with only 1 post, but w/e. First I couldn't log in, now it looks like I'm going to have to re-block all the trolls I had blocked before...

    Hey-hey!

Yeah, all the new mobas are being cancelled. I guess they thought it was easier to get their game to the masses due to LoL/DoTA popularity. But it's not. They did not receive the popularity the hoped for, ran out of ideas and just gave up. Just a guess/theory.

Anyway. 30-yo male here and I also like k-pop.

    You're welcome.

The problem with the gaming industry is that it's greedy, even more so than other industries, because there's little cost of production compared to the other industries. No problem in closing a game, just turn off the servers. With that said, there are games that shut down too early. The moment profits begin to slow, the game ends, it feels like.
Smite is an online multiplayer game. You can't have immediate gratification simply by starting the game. The ground is even. There's another player on the other side. You are not entitled to having everything favoring you at every time. If you don't like it, by all means, go back to the 1-shot-kills-all Aliens: Colonial Marines singleplayer.

I played Dawngate and I played Infinite Crisis since alpha so I understand that...Dawngate was really fun, like LoL and DoTA2 haven't really hit me and only other MOBA I like is Strife, I recommend trying it atleast and taking it with a grain of salt since it's like early beta and there are a few balancing issues, IC was a hit or miss, they had interesting but a lot of unfamiliar characters and gameplay I guess wasn't for everyone, I liked it though...also there is nothing wrong with K-Pop, I know plenty of people ages 25+ that listen to it and I don't mind listening to it here and there, it just isn't smth I'd usually listen too

The problem is all the new Moba's are pretty much copying LoL and Dota 2 with the same crappy rts top down view with point and click unit controlling. Tacking a different theme onto it with slightly different mechanics and maybe a convenience on some things over the more popular ones is not going to cut it for very long.

Smite's unique approach to the more 3rd person view where you feel like you are the character you are playing as instead of some unit you control on a map separates it from the more popular mobas. That alone will keep players here.

I heard the transformers game was actually pretty fun. Sucks I never got to try it.

Anyways, I'm getting back into fps games, and at the moment, waiting for Overwatch.

Maybe you can re-awaken the gamer inside you with Dark Souls like I did. It was the first game after 5 years of lame repetativeness that gave me legitimate rage quits, something no game has ever accomplished for me

And once you finish it, boy does it feel good..

Or you can try Bloodborne if you have a console, even better ^^
