    Beep....Beep....Beep...

The glare of the sterile white room met Franks unfocused eyes. That infernal beeping again... He struggled to

breath through his mask. Frank strained against his body, trying to swivel his head to the side, only achieving a slight

shake for a momentous effort. It's getting to be about that time he thought. His eyes focused slowly, landing on

the small form of his wife, Glynda.

"Sixty years..." he struggled to say, only achieving a breathy whisper and a few mumbled wors.

Glynda sat up in her chair, grabbing Franks clammy hand. Her warmth slowly wound its way up his arm. "Honey, do you need

    something?" She asked.

Frank looked into her eyes. The eyes he had seen every day for practically his entire life now. He knew the inevitable was

finally coming. He wanted to say how much she meant to him, how happy she had made his life. He wished he could do more

    for her.

"I love you, Glynda" he mumbled, achieving only "..vo...uh..."

"Save your energy Frank. Here, let me get you some water." She said. She gave him a few loving strokes through the hair,

and kissed him on the forehead. Then she got up and shuffled out of the room.

He looked back to the ceiling, cursing to himself. So much for that 'moment' of clarity and last bit of strength...

    Beep..... Beep.... Beep....

Frank sighed and closed his eyes infernal racket

    Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

As if the beeping wasn't annoying enough

Frank opened his eyes to a vast white expanse. Oddly, he was standing up. He looked down in confusion. He was wearing his

favorite suit from when he was on leave from the Navy, the same one he went to pick up Glynda in...

"That's bizarre..." He said out loud.

Frank looked around, tying to make sense of his surroundings. It was a giant white space. There were no seams to the floor

or the ceiling. Just white. The floor was solid enough, but he cast no shadow. In fact there was no shadows anywhere. His

skin looked ghostly in the light..

    "So this is death.. eh?"

He looked closer. The scar he got from the war was gone... as were his wrinkles and sun spots. He looked closer at the

rest of his body. He looked like he was twenty again...

In fact I feel like I'm twenty again

He bent down to the ground in a low squat, and rocketed back to a standing position. A giant smile plastered on his face.

No back pain, no knees giving out, no involuntary moans of protest

He looked around him again. A door sat off in the distance. There was nothing else on any wall. Frank shrugged, and jogged

    lightly to the door.

"No walker for me, no siree" He laughed.

He turned the door, and entered the next room. The room was a shock to his eyes. Compared to the bright white of the last

room, this was the polar opposite.

The room was a massive cave, complete with stalagtites and stalagmites. Shadows hung off of every rock like cobwebs,

flickering slightly thanks to the few torches attached to the pillars. The moment he walked through the door, a slow creak

issued behind him. When he looked back, the door was replaced with another wall with a torch in a holder.

That's not creepy in any sense of the word... He rolled his eyes, and proceeded along the path in front of him.

His footsteps echoed softly off of the walls, highlighted by the sound of dripping water falling on to the stalagites near

him. He rounded a bend in the path, and was met with an altogether out of place view.

A short man sat hunched over a desk, scribbling on a piece of paper. The desk itself was a piece of art to Franks eyes.

Made of solid mahoganny, with classical arches and carvings throughout the design. A small lamp stood in the corner with a

silk green shade, providing light for the man.

"Frank. Welcome. Please sit down" The man said without looking up.

Frank did as he was told. Taking a seat in a small comfortable chair that matched the desk. Frank studied the small man a

litle closer. He wore a charcoal grey suit with light grey pinstripes. The mans salt and pepper hair was buzzed short, and

he wore a black tie with a silver tie pin. The small man put his pen down, and looked at Frank. His eyes startled Frank

slightly. They were pitch black, with small swirls of mist floating lazily around them. His eyes were blurred at the

edges, as if the light was being sucked in through his eyeballs. He had a small goatee, the same salt and pepper as his

hair. He looked to be in his fourties.

"Frank Albert Williams. Age 84. Born July 19th, 1931. Served Two tours in Vietnam. Owner of "Franks Hardware Supply" on

5th street and Walsh Street, in Austin, Texas. Died May 24th, at 3:52 PM in Room 201, Bed B, in Saint David South Austin

Hospital. Survived by Wife and Two sons. Married to Glynda Mary Williams. Age 79, Born August 2nd, 1936. Frank Albert

Williams Jr. Age 52, Born February 14th, 1973. Fred Jackson Williams, Age 54, Born February 15th, 1975. Is this

    information correct?" The man replied.

"Uh..." Frank stammered. Was that really all my life amounted to? "Fred was born on February 16th, actually"

The man looked down at the papers.

"Ah. A drop of water seems to have smudged the Six. No matter. We'll just say he was born on the 15th." The man flicked

the paper once and laid it down on his desk again.

A small surge of anger welled up in Frank "But he was born on the...wait... No You're correct. He was born on the 15th."

Frank said. He wasn't sure why he was angry at the stranger, but it had seemed important. He wondered why he said Fred was

born on the 16th... He remembered very well that his young son was born on the 15th.

"I am Hades. Let me congratulate you Frank, on making it past the first door. Some of you mortals call it Purgatory. It is

the place where souls stay to accept death. Your soul was remarkably fast, it only took two days for it to understand you

    were dead."

Two days? But it only felt like a few minutes.

"Isn't Hades the name of that...what was it... God of Hell in some ancient religion?"

The small man grinned at Frank, making his goatee lopsided.

"You mortals conjured the idea of me many years ago. I am Hades. Or at least I am a part of what you percieve as Hades. I

am the god of the Underworld in your Greek mythology. We gods have always existed, though you Mortals have helped define

    our shape through the centuries."

Frank looked at Hades, his mouth opened slightly while his tongue darted around his mouth. "You mean to say those gods are

real? I believe in Jesus and God, sir. I think I'm in the wrong place...This is...what, valhalla or something?"

Hades looked up at frank, his eyebrow arched "You know, I've been hearing quite a bit about that Jesus fellow lately. All I know is that he isn't here. You died, and We are the only gods you'll find. There has been some strange additions to us up here lately though... That flying ball of spaghetti is probably the weirdest one though... Oh well, nothing we can do about that."

Hades snapped his fingers, and the world turned into a dark grey blur. It was similar to being in the center of a playground spinning wheel, only his body wasn't spinning, the world itself was. Frank slammed his eyes shut for a brief moment, and looked again. The cavern had disappeared, and several rows of empty chairs sat in front of Frank. He himself was sitting behind a wooden barrier, with Hades on his right, sitting above him twirling a gavel.

"A bit theatrical, but it is time to judge you frank."

Frank lifted himself from the chair and frowned at the man sitting in the judges chair.

"Judge me? What have I done that could possibly need judging? I've lived my life according to the bible, and Jesus fills my heart."

Hades slammed the gavel three times on the wood, then motioned for Frank to sit.

"Yes, yes. I've heard that often enough as well. What are we to judge? Why... We're going to judge your life obviously. To see if the evil you've done outweighs the good."

Hades snapped his fingers, and two people materialized in front of the bench. Frank slumped into his chair like a sack of potatoes. Standing before him was both a younger version of himself and a much older version of himself. If he had to guess, he was looking at himself when he was both ten and sixty years old.

"So, what is your verdict?" Hades said.

"Balanced." The two versions of Frank said in unison.

"Excellent! On to the final bit!" Hades slammed the gavel on the desk again, and the world spun once more around Frank, wiping the court room from his vision. At last, the world materialized again in front of Frank. This time, he was standing in a room much like where he started, only in this white room were multiple doors.

"What was all that about?" Frank asked

"Ah. That was exactly what I said. A representation of all the positive and all the negative you've done. I believe the word is 'Karma' in your world."

"What if I failed? What if I wasn't in balance?" Frank said

"Oh, nothing much. If you were out of balance in a bad way, I'd simply throw you into Chaos. I heard that fellow Dante wrote a book on. Your soul will go through what he calls hell. You would remember nothing of yourself, and then be spat out into Astra as some abomination you mortals like to call monsters.

    "Astra?"

    Hades pointed down

A massive map covered the ground, showing hundreds of islands in full detail. The small islands sat on the floor, in full life detail, even rising up from the floor.

"What the.." Frank knelt down, and inspected one of the islands closer. It was like looking at a 3D model of a small island. The mountains rose high around a central depression of a desert. The upper part of the island was white with ice, while the bottom was grasslands and forests. A word above the island stood in golden relief on the floor "Astra Mar"

"That is the world map of Astra. You will select a god to serve, and then you will be reborn on one of these continents. That particular one is Mar. It was the first that we made in this world. You humans named that one Marchen some time ago, but us gods prefer Mar. It means "Fairy Tale" in one of your languages. As you mortals kept dying, we simply continued to create more and more landmasses. And what we ended up with is what you see." Hades swept a hand along the room, indicating the entire map.

    "How big is this...Mar?"

"oh, 20 million square miles, give or take. It's actually one of the smaller continents of Astra."

Frank felt his legs turn to jelly, and sat hard on the ground, completely covering one of the continents.

"This is probably the weirdest dream I've ever had. Talking to some god and being told I'll be reincarnated into this...world. Is this seriously what happens when we die?" Frank stated. He rested his forehead in his palm.

"Ah, some of your mortal philosophers enjoy saying 'Life is but a dream'. I would agree for the last earth. You can liken it to an infancy in Astra. You will never age in Astra, and you can live as long as you possibly can, barring any fatal injuries. But there's time to discover that on your own."

Hades walked towards one of the doors and stood there.

"Decide which god you like the most Frank. Then submit your body to them to do as they wish. You will gain immortality, and even some of what you call 'magic'. Mind, coming into contact with our essence in this process does leave some of ourself on you. If I were you, I'd consider it an honor in all cases. Why you get to be an almost 'me'." Hades said. He tapped at the door behind him. There was a small silver plaque on the door

    Hades
    God of the Underworld
    Greek
    Darkness
Great Personality and Sense of Humor

Frank looked around at the doors, then the map. so...this is next..huh?

Tern was awake. The whitewashed walls gleamed in the afternoon sun. The buildings themselves were mostly two stories each. Dark brown wood showed how the frames were constructed, taking elements from the medieval German style. The streets were clean, and the houses themselves were all in good repair, even though the town itself had been constructed somewhat haphazardly through the years. The resulting crooked paths and small alleys that shot in every direction throughout the city, making it a perfect storm for sailors to get drunk and stay lost for days at a time. If viewed from above, the city looked like a drunk spider had spun its web haphazardly. A soft breeze wound its way through the buildings, permeating the town with the smells of the harbor. Salt, Fish, and Tar.

A man leaned against a pole. He had storm gray hair, slicked back over his head. He appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties, the only mar on his smooth skin a small scar on his left temple. He was covered in a dull gray half plate armor set. It had been designed for him specifically, contouring to his body. It was made to be completely functional while also appeasing his love for art. The plates on his chest curved softly, accenting his chest, with two free layers set below to allow him to bend left and right freely. The plates on his upper legs were lined with grooves that cut back into the other grooves. His shin plates followed the same line style as the rest of his armor, though a small stylized lightning bolt was centered over the front of each piece.

Jason's gray eyes flicked back and forth across the ships coming into harbor. He rested his arm on his sword's handle, and crossed over it with his other arm, letting him appear relaxed while also allowing him to react in a moments notice. He knew from personal experience that tern wasn't as perfect as it tried to appear from the fresh paint. Thieves, thugs, and the occasional beggar might come and try cutting his purse, or his neck. He looked around him casually, making sure there was nothing come from behind him.

Cyrus the II, his lord and king, had sent him here to pick up several guests to escort to his castle. Each one had sent their answer to the realm's summon. The gods had been silent for almost five months now. It wasn't exactly uncommon for some of the gods to retreat from the public for a while, but every god had simply disappeared from Astra, on the same day, at the same time. Within a week of the incident, Cyrus had charged Jason with forming a task force to be sent to the gods throne room, but the party he sent had stopped all communications several weeks ago. Unwilling to risk another regiment of his soldiers, Cyrus commissioned a message to the continent of Astra Mar : One Hundred Platinum Crowns to any adventurers willing to journey to the throne of the gods and report back to the King all findings. Jason wondered what kind of people would make up the group he'd be leading back to the castle.

Somewhere Outside of Port Tern, Ostia
    12:30pm-Thain

Shallow Breathe and the will to hold onto life. While impatiently sitting in the corner of the room is a tall Winged Armored man, just stroking the bladed edge of the Scythe in his possession muttering to himself "Thanatos why the hell did you disappear people have been holding on to life to long. I mean when you were around they actually would let me take them. I swear I will either Find you and help strengthen or strike you down." Finally the man in the bed let out his last breathe and the Dark Angel walked forward and pulled the soul out and Juggled it in his hands. Always enjoyed uplaying with his food to say. however he does have to banish it in a timely manner in order to please Thanatos and Hades. However walking out of the building Thain didn't sense anyone really dying at the time so walking along the gravel road he started heading into the Port of Tern. Thain always enjoy's flustering people with his prowess in combat and general arrogance. "Lets find the best Pub in town shall we"

The Sun was shining with strength. It was radiating as if it was going to melt rocks and Altair wasn't going to challenge it. He began to take off his backpack and sit down in the shadows, in the side of the street making the place colder with his magic. Not used to wearing a backpack for 1 and a half days without stopping, he was getting tired and hungry. From were he sat he could see a man leaning against a pole looking everywhere from which a certain strength emanated. He wasn't the only one, however, as Altair could sense more in the vicinity and in the Outskirts of the city but he knew more were coming. All of them apostles seeking the same as him, though maybe with a different purpose. As Altair sat there, he closed his eyes and tried to relax. It had been a long travel and there would be more to do later.

Altair is pale skinned and and has a relatively long white silvery hair. He also has red glaring eyes and long pointy ears like his brother. The eyes of a person who has seen hell and is prepared to fight in it.

In the Outskirts of Port Tern someone could be seen with a hand on a tree looking at the city. A fine young man of dark hair and lilac skin. He thought of how darkness emanates from the city. This was normal for commercial cities like this one. They are full of thieves and bandits waiting for every weakness to break in. The greed which fills these types of cities are the main reason light minds get away from it in the first place. He continued walking. There was still a long road ahead of him. Even though the city looked close, miles separated Alathir from his destination. This made Alathir impatient. There was someone important which he was sure was there already as he is always. At this time Alathir subconsciously began to sprint to his new adventure.
Both, Altair and Alathir are 5'4" tall, 22 year old boys, although they look younger than that. This is probably due to them becoming apostles at a very young age. They were separated almost instantly when coming to Astra and met each other as apostles. When Hecate became a queen in darkness and abandoned all the light in her, it was Altair who helped Alathir find why. It was, however, when they were close to the answer when the gods stopped talking. Here they separated again. Now, however, they are led to the same place. Searching for answers they are now bound again by this new quest

Donald was laying under the sun looking out at the horizon with a contemplative look on his face. Building his headquarters on the edge of the cliff had been a good call.
Not only it allowed for a gorgeous view, but with his vision he could see incredibly far.
One of the girls from the pool came close and sat next to him:
    "You are doing it again"
    He looked up at her
    "Doing what ?"
"Oh come on Donald. I've seen the way you have changed in the last few months, something is bothering you. You are always looking at the horizon, as if you are trying to find something."
"It's nothing for you to worry about sweetheart. I've just been thinking a bit about all that has happened."
"You mean...the gods going silent ?"
"Yes. Now move along, go enjoy the sun and don't worry about me. I'm fine. "
And he gave her a dazzling smile to let her know the conversation was over.
Things weren't fine, he didn't want to admit it but deep down he felt insecurity.
Since he arrived to Astra, Apollo had always been there, always in touch, always giving him glimpses of the future.
His presence was taken for granted, but now he was gone.
Donald was left completely on the dark without a warning, only that blurry dream he got before Apollo stopped being in touch.
Five months...he had been searching for an answer for five long months.
Playing the last vision he got over and over again in his head and asking for answers. But no one seemed to know anything, they were all taken by surprise.
His mind drifted to the in invitation he got, a king offered him money if he accepted to join a dream team to look for answers.
"Huh a bunch of random people scared and confused from the absence of the gods joined together. I wonder how well that's going to work. "
But the situation didn't allow him the luxury of choosing.
He had already decided he would go.
Lazily getting up, Donald went to his basement to gear up and prepare for the quest.
Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea, maybe not working with others was the thing keeping him away from succeeding.
It was all left to be seen....

Port Tern Lesser Air Currents, Ostia
Common Calendar Year 134, 40th Age
    May 25th, 12PM

Akachi rode along the air currents, allowing them to carry him to his desired destination. His body moving in a serpintine manner while his wings remained completely open to help stabilize himself. The currents the serpent chose to ride on kept him above the clouds and out of the senses known as sight to most land based creatures. "I should be getting close, its time to lower myself." The dragon thought, just as he slowly retracted his wings an tilted toward.

His head was the first to escape the current, but the rest of his body wasn't far behind. Out of the current and into a cloud, his wings once again reopening to create resistance and slow down his decent. The upper half of his body bent back as he gave a powerful flap of his beautiful brown wings, and then another, and another. By the time he reached the bottom of the cloud he had regained control and was now flying head first to the outskirts of Port Tern.

Thain after getting tired of walking on his feet finally deciding to spread his wings and take flight, Giving himself a birds eye view of the surrounding town see if anything is going on. Flying around the Port Thain notices A stout man seemingly standing with authority near a pole. Thinking to himself Lets have some fun with the town guard today.Swooping down silently, But coming in at a heated pace thain hits the ground with a thump and at a crouch and slowly stands and stands up grinning inside his helmet until he notices the man is un-phased by the sudden appearance. Thain disappointed Calls out "Well this is a turn of a new leaf most of the town guard go off running when I come swooping down!"
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

    DRIJUR RIVER 12:45 PM

    Ammon

After finishing with his trip to a pleasure house, Ammon always like to see if there was someone in need of his help. After flying for hours it seems that nobody was in despair or so he thought. When he passed over the Drijur River, a much needed Oasis. He was distracted by the screams of men being devoured by crocodiles while a strange figure stands looking and then just dives and disappears into the red waters. A disturbing look just took over his face as he dove down and an incredible speed after spotting the strange creature's location and plucking it from the waters and throwing him into the burning sands. He stood over him. setting his wing a blaze, in a very intimidating manner he whispered with a grim smile on his face:

    - Tell me why shouldn't i kill you right here, right now, you foul creature?
After a minutes of awkward silence Ammon lets out a very loud laughter as he picks him up and hugs him.
-its been too long my friend, too long.
