During a skype call with a few friends and my girlfriend, someone brought up the idea of Charon being added to smite.
I instantly thought this was an amazing idea. I decided to look into any concepts that may have been posted on the Smite forums about him. I only found a few posts, from a few years ago, so I thought I'd try to resurface this idea.
Feed back on the idea is greatly welcomed, including possible kits, skins, stats, and so on. Please also consider rating the thread according to your feelings about the idea.
A few my friends, girlfriend, and I came up with include the following...
NOTE
We are planning to keep this post somewhat simple. We won't be obsessing over every detail, as that would mean if Hi-Rez liked our idea, they would only be able to copy and paste in into game. I would much rather Hi-Rez have creative liberty with Charon.

----
Possible skill ideas: Some sort of move based Charon's obol. the coin placed in or on the mouth of a dead person before burial. It was payment for a ride into the underworld across the river.
Another could have something to do more with Death (The Grim Reaper), as he is often confused for Death, and the concept of The Grim Reaper arose from him.
Possible skin idea: An ozzy ozborne skin, where he yells "CHARON!!!" A reference to Ozzys yell forSharon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC5fp_RgOM4
"Charon: Fairy man" skin. A ferry themed skin. Rather than an ore, give him a wand. Toss in some fairy wings, glitter, and bright colors, and bam. You have the king of the fairies. Fab as hell.
Possible animation/voice ideas: During his death animation, he could be pulled under the ground by rotting arms, as the ground turns watery. Representing the dead of the sea, escorting HIM to the underworld, his job being "completed."
On his "Victory" screen, he could be rowing his ship through the foggy, Styx river. Or escorting some dead gods/humans over the river, to the underworld.
If not an Ozzy skin, one of his taunts, jokes, or his beginning animation, he could yell "CHARON!!!" similar to the idea under the "possible skin ideas" area.
Possible titles include: Charon: The Ferryman, Charon: Ferryman to the Underworld, Cherron: The Ferryman of Styx, Charon: The ferryman of the Poisoned River, Charon: Ferryman of the poisoned river.
More in depth look at a possible kit:
All of these ideas are simply suggestions, and are intended to give Hi-Rez creative liberty, using anything from bit's and pieces to entire concepts. This section will be edited over time as well.
Passive - Charons Obol: Charon's gold per 5 is boosted. Possibly stacking per god kill, It could be reset on death? /// Charon gains extra gold or steals gold from enemy god on kill.

===ABOUT CHARON===
Charon (
aka the Ferryman, the Boatman and sometimes Death) is a grim and silent ghoul who carries the dead across the Styx in the Isle of the Dead in the Green Isles and Hades, the River of Death in the Dimension of Death, and the Poisoned Lake in Kolyma. Known as Father Death in some of Daventry's legends he is an entity that comes to reap souls and cause death. In the Dimension of Death his boat takes on an incorporeal form. He has been in the service of Dracula, Pluto, Samhain, and Azriel.
There is a personage named Charon whose job it is to ferry souls of the dead across the river Styx to Hades (as he did in the time of the ancient Greeks). He was thought of as a silent, shrouded old man. In time, the image became synonymous with Death. Charon has a scythe for reaping the souls of the dead, but doesn't carry it all the time The scythe is perfectly functional. It has been whispered that to see his face is to look into the Abyss; but most would not want to look beyond his cowl.

===ABOUT STYX===
The
Styx (/stɪks/; Ancient Greek: Στύξ [stýkʰs]) is a river in Greek mythology that formed the boundary between Earth and the Underworld (the domain usually called Hades, which is also the name of its ruler). The rivers Styx, Phlegethon, Acheron, Lethe, and Cocytus all converge at the center of the underworld on a great marsh, which is also sometimes called the Styx. According to Herodotus the river Styx originates near Feneos
