So let's talk books. What's your favorite book, or what are you currently reading?

I'm reading book The Name of the Wind: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One by Patrick Rothfuss and am in love.

    THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!

I love that book. I have read the sequel as well. I am getting impatient for the 3rd!!! Let me know what you think about it. I don't know of many others who have read it.

Currently, I am under a pile of school work, so the only reading I am doing is journal articles and textbooks. I am trying to read a friends writing but I am sad to report that I have not had much time. Hope to do more reading over the summer. Got a back log and hoping to start some classics (by that I mean victorian era or older novels. like The Count of Monte Cristo).

My favorite book... has to be The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.

I'm currently reading Jane Eyre for my literature class. Really liking it so far.
Smite is an online multiplayer game. You can't have immediate gratification simply by starting the game. The ground is even. There's another player on the other side. You are not entitled to having everything favoring you at every time. If you don't like it, by all means, go back to the 1-shot-kills-all Aliens: Colonial Marines singleplayer.

I'll list a book I read years ago that I still really like even though it's not a challenging read.

It was Sabriel by Garth Nix. I've read far more complicated books. I've read far longer books. I've read shorter books. Pop up picture books, and everything in between, but there's just something sort of charming about it.

I think it's because back when I read it it sort of captured my imagination, and made me decide that someday I wanted to do the same to someone else in turn for something I had written.

Another great book. Used to love his work. Haven't read anything by him in some time. Did you read the rest of the series?

I have, and they were good, but while the story works as a Trilogy I feel it works stronger as a single volume. Not that it's bad, but the first book is so good.

I agree, but it needed the other books to explain more of the world. Otherwise, a lot of holes were left after Sabriel.

My all time favorite is the Bartimaeus quadrilogy. It's funny, it's deep, and it's told from the standpoint if a shape shifting, reluctantly obeying djinn. What's not to like?

    What an emotional rollercoaster.

Read City of Ashes and City of Bones back in sophomore year 2010. Was good. Didn't bother with the first one though. Just went straight to the second and third and I don't plan on reading the others.
