Help me understand leagues please.

I am in placements and iv never played ranked before, therefore i should have an elo of 1200 starting. You get +50 and -50 for wins and losses respectivly in placements.

Therefore I should be 1300 elo right now. Which is high silver/low gold.

SO....

Why am I being put against diamond and masters players and getting owned in every game because my team are all placements against people with fancy diamond logos and master logos.

Help me understand how this matchmaking works please because it makes no sense to me at all.

Oh and in addition my last game I was against someone from SK Gaming who has 2800 elo.

How is this fair?!

no idea what to tell you lad. i loved it when i was facing all plats and diamonds during qualify. It was actually a good balanced game for me.

The matchmaking is bad.
I didn't go against things like THAT, but season 1 promos, my 1st match was Gold 1's ect.
The start of Season 2 I got some plats. But yeah, Matchmaking is Matchmaking lol.

I agree with Riven on matchmaking,you kinda start out with 1500 elo in bronze if you`re lucky enough to win much or get carried by others,then you get placed with ppl in gold/plat/diamond which is bad.
For example,I`ve lost games during my qualifiers due to many reasons,and got placed in bronze 3.I`ve worked my way up to silver 3 right now,and I`m just 1000 elo,getting placed with bronze 5 players xD.

The problem now is that smite gets new players after SWC , and you can play ranked now i a party of 2 , that means that all noobs , trolls , afk and toxic players are coming to ranked. the only way to fix this is to make it harder to play ranked , like you need lvl 30 and 40 masteries instead of 16 . And you must have played at least 300 games in normal coquest. Or like I read on this forum, lvl up to diamond , have a high elo and play with normal players

You start at more like 1500 and get more like +-150. Which is why you get matched with such high rated people.

The true skill mmr just doesn't work well.
