PSA: If you are experiencing lag, please do this

Since it seems that lag and server stability have been bit of an issue for some players lately (Myself included), I thought I might as well tell you there is something you can do about it aside from whining on the forums.

In the post match lobby, you will see a button with a little arrow on it in the top right hand side of the screen. That is a button to report feedback for the server stability. The more (quality) reports HiRez can receive, the better they can provide the proper fixes to resolve the issues properly.

Here is a screenshot of where you can find this button:

and again i post this here so someone else can see it. i went straight to hi rez about the lag issues and here is what they told me

I'm sorry that you experience such issues, but this is a connection issue on your end.

These recommendations may improve your connection issues when playing Smite:

Reset your modem/router, a router is just another computer and can be stuck running calculations that it shouldn’t be. A hard restart should solve this problem. All you should have to do is unplug the router, wait ten seconds, and plug it back in. Once it cycles back, login and see if the problem is still there.

Connect to your modem/router with a cable. This is probably the easiest way to test if your wireless connection is causing problems.

Change your Wireless broadcast channel. Wireless channels can become crowded when many people are using the same channel. If you do not know how to change your Wi-Fi channel go to this URL: http://lifehacker.com/5580636/change...ger-connection

Is your connection properly secured? Are there no unauthorized users on your network? If there are authorized users sharing bandwidth, you may need to have them take a break while you play.

Close all streaming applications and torrent clients.
If these steps fail to help chances are that the network your ISP is using to give you access to the Internet is congested. Call your ISP for more options.

So what the support team are doing with that reply to you is trying to fix it on your end to make sure. They can't do anything about it at that time if it's a server issue, and instead of saying "you're on your own", they're trying to help you change things at your end that could help. It's called troubleshooting.

You really need to submit feedback reports.

I submit reports every time I get any dodgy games, but I disagree with that reply being helpful troubleshooting.

The support member in question categorically denied any possibility of it being a server-side problem in the very first sentence, which would completely put me off of filling out the Server Stability Feedback Form. Why bother, if they're just going to deny even the possibility of it being an issue on their end.

It's most likely a copy + pasted generic response, at least the overwhelming bulk of it is, so changing it to "This may be an issue with the connection on your end, here are some things you can do that may improve your connection:" isn't a hard task.
