    Preliminary Patch Notes 12/12/2014 - Awilix Release

    MOUNT UP!

    New God: Awilix

    • Awilix


    • Initiative - Passive


    • If Awilix strikes first from out of combat, she increases her total physical power by 30% for 2.5s.


    • Summon Suku


    • Awilix mounts her Panther Suku, gaining movement speed but decreasing strafe speed. Awilix may leap off of Suku to deal 80/130/180/230/280 +80% of her Physical Power as damage to all enemies in the target area. Canceling this ability before leaping will not trigger its cooldown. Cost: 50/55/60/65/70. Cooldown: 15s.


    • Feather Step


    • Awilix flips over the last enemy she hit within 1.5s, dealing 60/90/120/150/180 +50% of her Physical Power as damage when she passes over them. The damage dealt is modified based on the next attack in Awilix's basic attack progression, increasing 1x/1.5x/2x. If the next basic attack in her sequence is her third attack, then she also hits all targets in the area around her. Cost: 60/65/70/75/80. Cooldown: 8s.


    • Moonlight Charge


    • Suku comes to Awilix's aid, rushing forward and damaging all enemies for 70/110/150/190/230 +60% of her Physical Power. If hit from behind, enemies are also knocked up into the air. Cost: 85 Cooldown: 12s.


    • Gravity Surge


    • Awilix calls upon the power of the moon, immediately pulling to her the closest enemy god in front of her that is either Leaping or Knocked Up into the air. The target god takes 200/250/300/350/400 +100% of her Physical Power as damage when it lands. Awilix is then bathed in moonlight, gaining 30/40/50/60/70% Attack Speed and 20/30/40/50/60 Physical Power for a short duration. Cost: 100. Cooldown: 90s.

    • Fixed a hitching issue caused by NPC’s not getting precached during matches.
    • Fixed an issue where non-party leaders would see incorrect challenge names when the party leader would join a custom lobby.
    • Fixed an issue with the initial VGS context missing.
    • Turning Auto-level off mid match will keep it off until turned back on in the lobby.
    • Fixed an issue with Ward selection pop-up only showing 2 pages of wards with buttons.
    • Fixed an issue with Hint/Help pop ups persisting at the Victory/Defeat screen.
    • Fixed a bad system message when cancelling a Custom Room.
    • Turning off Auto Level abilities/purchase during a match will now be remembered.
    • Added Russian, Polish, and Turkish fonts.
    • Numerous Co-Op AI improvements for new player experience.
    • Added Hirez animated logo. Snappy!


    Spectator

    • Switched location of Actives and Consumables in the spectator hud.
    • Can now /spectate on players that are already in the match lobby.
    • Improved the performance of Nu Wa’s Fog. Will appear less jittery.
    • Green timeline is now clickable.
    • Team name display in spectator is now editable in hud editor (Only visibility).
    • Camera height adjustments.
    • Collision is turned while in free cam.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the Game State text to clear when opening settings.
    • Fixed an issue where gods switching stance did not update the ability icons.



    Gods - Balance/Updates/Fixes


    • Ao Kuang


    • We love that Ao Kuang is an all-in style melee-mage, but his burst potential was a bit too high, and Dragon Call when fired as a projectile was allowing for too much damage while maintaining a safe distance. This patch also features a cleanup to his passive, and a fix for the notorious Kumbhakarna Sleepy issue.
    • King’s Sword


    • When using energy to cast an ability in place of mana, it will no longer consume two energy charges. One charge will provide the casting and also the damage increase.


    • Dragon Call


    • Magical Power Scaling of melee damage reduced from 30% to 28% per Dragon.
    • Ranged damage when re-activating the ability and sending Dragons forward reduced from 20/30/40/50/60 to 15/20/25/30/35 per dragon.


    • King of the Eastern Seas


    • Fixed a bad interaction with this ability and Kumbhakarna’s Sleepy. Kumbhakarna is no longer executed if his passive is available, but Ao Kuang still enters Dragon Form.

    • Tooptip updated. Now states that this ability can critically hit.


    • Nox


    • Some huge changes for Nox this patch! Nox was capable of dealing large amounts of magic damage but the leash component of her ultimate Night Terror exposed her to too many fatal situations. We wanted to give her a chance to sit at range and control the fight while still remaining survivable. With the addition of a delayed stun and the chance to hit multiple targets, Night Terror now gives Nox a strong teamfight presence. Changing her passive to include more damage mitigation and removing her need to stay near her target gives her many more options on the battlefield.
    • Flame of the Night


    • This ability has been changed: Nox’s candles gather energy from all abilities she uses. For every ability Nox casts a candle is lit. For every candle lit Nox gains 4% damage mitigation. When Nox takes damage from an enemy god one of her candles are blown out.


    • Shadow Barrier


    • Damage reduction is now 90% at all ranks.
    • Barrier duration increased from 1s to 2s.
    • Reduced cooldown from 18s to 18/17/16/15/14s


    • Nightfall Raven


    • Damage reduced from 70/140/190/240/290 to 70/120/170/220/270
    • Silence duration increased from 1.0/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4s to 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2s


    • Siphon Darkness


    • Damage reduced from 90/120/150/180/210 to 90/110/130/150/170
    • Mana changed from 50/55/60/65/70 to 50


    • Night Terror


    • Nox is no longer required to maintain a link to targets affected by Night Terrors. Targets remain affected regardless of range, for the duration.
    • When Night Terror expires, targets are now stunned for 1s and take damage again.
    • Increase projectile speed from 110 to 160.
    • Increased range from 55 to 70.


    • Osiris


    • Lord of the Afterlife


    • Osiris is now CC Immune during the entire leap, not just the casting time.


    • Serqet


    • Serqet's Cobra Kiss duration, at the later stages of the game, was allowing her too much control in using all her damaging abilities before a target could react. Reducing the duration makes Serqet rely more heavily on her positioning and mobility to secure kills.

    • Reduced Madness duration from 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 to 1/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4.

    • Lil’ Red targeter improvements to team coloring

    • Fixed some issues with him getting stuck in previous stance.


    • Vamana


    • The change is intended curb a bit of Vamana’s late game damage, or force him to specialize more in his itemization, consistent with other warriors.
    • Colossal Fury


    • Reduced Physical Power Bonus from 40/65/90/115/140 to 40/55/70/85/100.


    • Vulcan


    • Magma Bomb can no longer ignore knockup immunity when knocking up players, allowing for a few more counters to the Smith of the Gods. In addition to removing the mini-stun we have added a hit indicator for where the bomb will land along with slightly reducing the range of the ability. This should help players squaring off against Vulcan’s potent lane poke.

    • Added a ground target warning indicator where the Magma Bomb is going to land.

    Awilix Patch notes

    Awilix:
    Passive: 30% boost for 2.5s is certainly enough time to wreck a target while ganking and you can do a sustained gank because of the heal that goes with this passive.

    1st ability: The ability to get around quickly as an assassin is going to make her scary. Usually you can rely a little on where an assassin was last in a lane before they can get to you, with the MS she has, everyone better make sure they have wards. The leap damage is very nice as well.

    2nd ability: Like a mix between Hun Batz' monkey teleport and loki's backstab ultimate, she pops up behind someone and if you time her attack chain correctly, it does an AOE attack. A pretty interesting idea that will require some skill to do right. It should feel rewarding. Of course this is also an important ability to do her ultimate combo so doing an AOE attack with it, will definitely be helpful.

    3rd ability: Nice damage on this skillshot, it feels weird requiring this ability to cast her ultimate effectively, but that's what they've done.

    Ultimate: This is an oddly niche ultimate, but holy crap the rewards she gets from it. The ability to shut down an escaping (leaping) god and then the attack and power bonuses she gets will make her very effective in wrecking people. Fortunately she does have her 3rd ability to set it up if needed.

    Awilix summary:
    It's nice to see a kind of niche god. She's certainly a counter to leaping gods and she'll be able to do great damage and ganking in general. She just has so many tricks and buffs to her and it will take time to master her skills to their fullest. She should be a rewarding god to play. As the game goes forward we should hopefully see more gods like her who cover certain areas of the game to round it out.

    God Balance:

    Ao Kuang Nerf:
    Dragon Call nerf is appropriate, but does it really do that much? Ao Kuang will still horribly wreck in melee with this ability, it just nerfs his ability to kill or soften someone running away. But he still has his teleport and ultimate to compensate for that. Ao Kuang will still be very effective.

    Nox Buffs:
    The new passive is way better than her old passive. Her abilities were just cheap to cast, not much going there. This new passive gives her a stronger laning presence and will make her hard to kill with an initial strike.

    Her shield lasting 1-2s and being 90% at all ranks is pretty good. It will help her deal with ultimates and make her harder to kill, which is good.

    A longer silence is good for her, allows her to escape better and deal with abilities more effectively.

    Her 3 is still gonna hurt, surprised they made it cheap across the board though.

    Her ultimate, less useless. Still need to to land that skill shot, but it opens up more possibilities for herself and teammates to deal with enemies.

    Osiris Fix: Not being CC immune during his ultimate was dumb as rocks, glad that's fixed.

    Serqet Nerf:
    Duration reduced on her Cobra Kiss is appropriate, during that 2 seconds, she pretty much could kill most gods. With 1.4s it gives plays a chance to atleast put up a fight.

    Vamana Nerf:
    Vamana is one of the best gods in the game, and his ultimate can make him pretty ridiculous. This nerf will bring him down a bit, but he'll still be very effective.

    Vulcan Nerfs:
    Vulcan is a great laning god, this slight nerf hurts him a little, but he'll still be very effective.

    Summary:
    Liking what I see with Awilix and these nerfs are all appropriate in my opinion. They'll help and hurt each god, but not change things too drastically; besides Nox. Nox was objectively the worst god in the game, so it's good to see a rework of her and we'll see how strong she is soon enough. Great job as always to the art team.

    What is Awilix classed as - Assassin or Warrior? She looks like a load of fun either way.

    The Nox changes looks pretty nice, glad they decided she wasn't a good boxer.

    I'm not sure about the nerf to Vulcan, since magma Bomb is about all the "poke" he has. Guess we'll see.

    Curious to see how the Ao Kuang nerf works out. He was initially too strong, but incredibly fragile for a melee god at the same time. Looks like they were fairly restrained, though ,so hopefully all will shape up well.

    I don't think that's where I would've nerfed Vamana, but he arguably deserved a bit of one. I think the evaluation of Warriors gets skewed because so many are fairly bad, though.

    Hopefully Ullr's stance-shifts finally got straightened out this time. It's a pain in the ass when his animations/appearance/sounds/icons and get out of synch with what stance he's actually in.

    Wow. I was surprised to see all the Nox changes. I love the new changes to her ultimate, and her Shadow Barrier ability seems to be looking much better. Nice job, Hi-Rez!

    Thats all I ever wanted to be removed from Vulcan...



    # But I highly doubt that HiRez had to nerf damage on Nox, .... they could have atleast buffed Shroud of Darkness consumption effect from 50% to 100% then...

    Meanwhile He Bo Watter Cannon does, 290 + 80% Magic Power with 3 second CD and NO DELAY...
    While Nox does DELAYED 170 + 60% Magic Power

    That is seriously laughable

    Even till now Nox still doesnt get any Effect that represents Night...

    #And that AO ''nerf'' ... If it isnt the most laughable nerf I have ever seen...

    Vulcan didn't need that nerf really. His ultimate is super unreliable, his magma bomb is what made him still viable. But Osiris get a massive buff? Glad to see Ao Kuang getting nerfed.
