    Random Hardcrash on Startup feat. Imageerror

    Im facing a quite old problem again. Had this with my prior Rig aswell.

    I'm starting Smite, getting a blackscreen and then im stuck. Teamspeak etc. still running but i need to restart. Sometimes it results in a major image error.

    Old Hardware:

    Core2Quad Q9550
    GTX570
    4GB DDR2-1066
    Win 7 Ult 64bit

    everything up to date

    New Rig:

    i5 4670k
    HD7970GHZ DC2
    8GB DDR3-1333
    Win 7 Ult 64bit

    I'm quite pissed, got a complete new build of hardware up and still the same random problem, could play fine for a while and now it occures everytime i try to start it up.
    Tried it in windowed mode, works fine in 800x600 but when trying fullscreen or native res it results in the same crash.
    My guess is, it's something with DX9 / Graphic section.

    Help me make sure I'm understanding your issue corectly:

    You launch Smite, the screen goes black, and the game crashes/stops responding? Can you elaborate on "major image error" as well, not too sure I know what you mean by that. (feel free to post any images of crash errors if it helps)

    Post a full DXDIAG report as well please -- Select "Start | Run" from the Windows start menu and run "dxdiag". This should load the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Then choose "Save All Information", save the file to a location on your harddrive. Open the file and copy+paste the text into a new http://pastebin.com/ doc and post it here.

    Yeah, a week ago i was playing without any problems, now after clicking the "Start" button in the Launcher the screen often goes Black and nothing more happens, while applications like Teamspeak etc. are still running in the background.
    Now i tried launching it in windowed 800/600, this works fine untill i'm raising the resolution and switching to fullscreen mode, then im blacking out again or a brown/grey striped screen appears.

    The same problem i had on my prior pc.

    Gotcha! Please send me some event logs from around the time of the crashes:

    1. Open your Windows event viewer (go to the start menu and type "Event Viewer" in the search box).
    2. Once in the event viewer, click "Windows Logs" and then select "Application."
    3. Please copy and paste the last few logs into a word document and send it to us as an attachment. The details of each log can be copied from the box in the middle of the event viewer.

    Yesterday i deleted the config files and ran the game fine for 2 or 3 games. Then restarted it and had the blackscreen error again. Strange...
