Baron is fun, and a great healer, but against other healers in assault he cant compete, because his heal is only usefull when you can hit enemies with it, and if its before a fight you cant really do much, you have to hope that an enemy can get close enough for you to hit your heal, maybe make his heal able to hit allies or minions and still heal, but have it a less of a heal.

Well, you're supposed to use the snake and aim the heal where they'll be rooted. I'd like to see that cast animation slowed because I cannot tell how many times I've tried to heal while being affected by knockups and it just won't fire off.

Other healers like Change or Hel have to get a lot closer than Baron does to dish out damage, or in the case of Aphrodite lack the ability to reliably dish out damage at all (avoiding her birds is easy). Baron has weaker heals due to higher and safer damage potential. Besides Hi-rez has been consistently trying to reduce the power of out of combat healing, generally preferring to shift to protections or in combat healing instead.

Yeah he can if you can land your 2 but most average players gonna miss it 9 times out of 10 so they wont heal anyone

So they should add op heal cuz he doesnt work on assault? yeah you should root them with snake and use it, simple as that
The issue is though, is that a majority of people dont use the root, and waist it on the minion wave, and when you are low, you cant heal back up till the enemies get near.

NO, baron's kit is broken. He needs to have really low numbers to be balanced, so don't make the problem worse
Baron's heal is part of his damage rotation but his ability rotation takes way too long to get off for the damage it does. He can't really land it raw and his damage is pretty weak in general. As in in combat heal it's weak because it just doesn't really land that much consistently unless you have ally setup and people prefer that mages and/or healers can set their own heals and damage up.
