    5.13 PTS Issues Thread: Phase 2 - 7/17/2018

    Hey everyone!

    Phase 2 for the 5.13 Mid-Season Update is Live! We’ve got some changes to Items and Gods based on your feedback in this phase so be sure to hop in and let us know what you think!

    Item Balance


    Masks

    Masks are intended to be a unique item for gods who want to flex into other classes/roles. We saw in Phase 1 of the PTS that masks were very rarely being used for this reason. Masks were overtuned in some ways, which increased their problems on the PTS, but the SMITE design team feels strongly that we should push Masks further into their intended role.

    For this reason, Masks will now be strictly class locked to be only purchasable by gods who normally do the opposite role of the Mask. For example: Only tanky gods (warriors/guardians) will be able to buy the damage Mask (Rangda's). Although we might be sacrificing the widespread applications Masks had, we feel this is a safer and more interesting design direction.

    This may seem counterintuitive, but this is what enforces the class shift design. We feel that these masks would not be interesting additions to the game, even with their negative stats, if they became core damage items on damage gods. (Or core tank items on tank gods, etc) There are already plenty of items in SMITE that fit that role and we want Masks to be something distinctly different.

    To compliment this design. Masks have had their stats and passives heavily adjusted. Please continue to share your feedback about these items as we move through the 5.13 PTS Testing Phases.
    Protector’s Mask - Mage/Hunter/Assassin Only
    • 1200g

    God Balance


    Freya

    Freya's rework went out a bit...bursty. We love the interaction with Aurora Blades pass through creating multiple explosions when paired with Northern Lights. It provides a solid increase in Wave Clear while allowing well positioned Freya players to find opportunities to punish opponents. However, the explosions dealing full damage was simply too much. Freya players can still deal more damage to enemies around minions, but the extra damage will be much more reasonable.

    Additionally, we have a few fixes that should also help her perform more as expected. Outside of fixing some animation and FX issues, Aurora Blades now properly applies effects like Demonic Grip and does not proc items like Soul Reaver.
    Mystic Warrior
    • Now heals off maximum mana / maximum health.


    Northern Lights
    • Each explosion past the first that hits a god will deal 25% of its total damage.
    • If hit by 3 explosions, a god would take full damage and then 2 hits that deal 25% of that full damage.


    Aurora Blades
    • Fixed an issue where this ability could get into a bad state and fire incorrect animations / FX.
    • This ability will no longer proc ability based item passives, and will properly proc basic attack based item passives.



    Bug Fixes


    • Issues with Ethereal Staff mana/health regen now work as intended.
    • The extra Neith bot has been removed from Jungle Practice Bot area.
    • Jungle Practice now has the correctly updated buffs
    • Kaldr now behaves correctly in Jungle Practice
    • Fixed an Issue with Freya's Ability 2 getting stuck in a bad state
    • Fixed an issue where red buff was healing too much
    • Ethereal Staff description updated
    • Ne Zha passive description updated
    • Sundering Spear description updated
    • Lono's Mask description updated
    • Freya's Passive text description updated
    • God mode in Jungle Practice now works with more than one player.
    • Jungle Practice lane minions no longer become immune after time has increased to above 30 minutes.
    • Unevolved Book of Thoth now gives the correct percentage of mana conversion.


    Known Issues


    • Freya's Ability tooltips are missing updated information
    • Jungle Practice lane minions will spawn whenever the player leaps
    • Voodoo pedestal is missing its model
    • Commendation system is still in progress and will have issues.
    • Friends Lists, Match History, etc. are missing Queue Names
    • New skin portraits are displaying as placeholder images
    • Evolved Book of Thoth grants 1000 mana, but the store UI only shows 100.

    "EMPTY THE CRYPTS
    Enemies hit by this have a 20% healing reduction applied. This effect stacks up to 3 times and lasts 5s.
    The damaging spirits now pass through all walls, structures, and players.
    Empty the Crypts now persists after Ah Puch dies."


    Ah Puch's ability 4 does not match what was announced in patch 5.13, the spirits do not pass walls, structures and players.

    Working as intended, his 1 was changed to throw 2 corpses all the time.

    Book of the Dead is too weak now, it was not that hot before so I stopped using it. Now it is worse.

    Changes that needs to be made to how Items are listed in the Item Shop:
    1 - Power + CCR lists items with no CCR.
    2 - Masamune should be listed under Physical Protections, Magical Protections and Auras, the Auras part is due to how similar the Passives of Masamune and Oni Hunter's Garb are.
    3 - Blackthorn Hammer should be listed under Cooldown % and MP5 since they are in the Passive similar to how some Pen items have the Pen in the Passive not in stats.
    4 - Shifter's Shield should be listed under Magical Protections since it is in the Passive similar to how some Pen items have the Pen in the Passive not in stats and Masamune.

    Ethereal Staff the additional Health and Mana gained initially is not the same as when stacks wear off. For example I would expect if I build up 2 stacks, when the first wears off, I have the same max Health and Mana as when I applied the first stack but no. Here are the numbers tested with a Level 3 Artio using her H1 ability on Level 3 Odin Bot on Jungle Map.

    Level 3 Artio with Ethereal Staff: Health - 985 / Mana - 327
    After gaining 1 stack: Health - 1013 / Mana - 351
    After gaining 2 stacks: Health - 1040 / Mana - 374
    First stack wears off: Health - 1012 / Mana - 348
    Second stack wears off: same as when started

    When the first of 2 stacks wears off you have less than when you applied the first stack. It gets stranger with 3 stacks as seen below, you cannot go above 3 since the first stack wears off before applying a fourth.

    Level 3 Artio with Ethereal Staff: Health - 985 / Mana - 327
    After gaining 1 stack: Health - 1013 / Mana - 351
    After gaining 2 stacks: Health - 1040 / Mana - 374
    After gaining 3 stacks: Health - 1066 / Mana - 394

If you hit the lone Level 1 Odin Bot on the right with her H1, you get Health 1007 / Mana 346. Then go and aim her H1 to hit 3 of the Level 1 Odin Bots on that bullseye, you get the same Health 1007 / Mana 346. Cannot test right now on 2 different gods to see which one you take the benefit from, the one with higher or lower Health / Mana perhaps someone with friends can help here.

    I got them afternoon today, no in game notice was given, just look at your total gems on Live.

    I don't think Masamune/Oni's should be in Auras. The aura tab is there for if you want items that help weaken enemies/bolster teammates. Masamune and Oni's are both self-buffs. The point of the tab is for team effects.

    Ethereal is working as intended for the first bullet. Look at the math. You gained 28 HP from stack one, 27 from stack two, and then 26 from stack 3 (each stack has diminishing returns since you are lowering their max health each stack). You then lost 28 HP, 27 HP, and then 26. I imagine the math for mana will be the same.

    I also believe it working as intended for the second part—it can only occur once every 15 seconds. They could add "this can only happen once per God hit" to make it more clear I guess.

    so there is a Kali bug on Jungle Practice where every bot you spawn and despawn are new death targets creating an infinite wheel of targets you can choose from until you crash as it asks you to pick a target
