    cancel zeus buff?

    I really don't understand why zeus was buffed with 5.9. He was already too strong (you could do pretty good even if you didn't know how to play him at all; and very good if you already had some idea).
    And now he's even more deadly, nice job devs.

    Mana cost was reduced on detonate because for that being his primary source of damage, especially in the early game, was too punishing for the mana cost. This is something that has been requested for a long time by zeus players.

    Lightning storm will only get maybe 2 or 3 hits on someone at most as it's one of the easiest ultimates to escape.

    Too punishing of an early game, too easy to escape his ult. That's why.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly. Zeus was completely broken before the buff, and now he's even more ridiculous. Here's some stats to prove it, from my recent games where at least one Zeus was present:
    • 18-3, 110% above average damage
    • 6-4, 110% above average damage
    • 11-4, 90% above average damage
    • 4-4, 70% above average damage
    • 5-6, average damage
    • 8-5, 30% above average damage
    • 13-8, 90% above average damage
    • 11-1, 60% above average damage
    • 11-6, 80% above average damage
    • 9-6, 240% above average damage
    • 19-10, 130% above average damage
    • 5-1, 50% above average damage
    • 5-11, 50% above average damage
    • 16-1, 200% above average damage
    • 13-4, 160% above average damage
    • 17-5, 110% above average damage
    • 5-0, 130% above average damage
    • 5-8, 100% above average damage
    • 10-10, 50% above average damage
    • 11-4, 110% above average damage
    • 4-7, 80% above average damage
    • 5-6, 50% above average damage
    • 1-3, 10% above average damage
    • 16-6, 100% above average damage
    • 3-3, 30% below average damage
    • 7-9, 10% above average damage
    • 0-1, 90% above average damage
    • 8-6, 170% above average damage

    So what do these 34 games tell us?
    • Average kd of 8.4-4.9
    • Consistently does 86% more than the average player damage per god
    • Frequently does more damage than the next two or more players combined
    • Even the worst players, and players playing on poor teams with little support are getting above average damage and reasonable k-d's
    • *In this match, 2 zeus players on opposite teams got 1st and 2nd place damage
    • All of these matches happened BEFORE THE LATEST BUFF


    If this data isn't enough proof that Zeus is op, I don't know what is.

    Zeus is in the same position as Ah Puch, Loki and maybe some other gods plus both Zeus and Ah Puch are currently the only gods not picked or banned in League play.

    In Conquest he stinks no matter the level. Maybe for new people or low level accounts he is doing well but he really stinks. Little mobility, no escape, nothing but pure raw damage in his kit. On a big Conquest map where he has to go Midlane and does not have allies for protection early, he can get rolled easy.

    In other modes, he does well because his negatives are cut down by mode changes. Most modes (Arena, Clash, Joust, Assault) he has allies near him for protection from match start unless the allies do not play as a team looking out for each other. He loves Joust because the lanes are so narrow, near impossible to avoid being hit by his attacks that are easier to dodge in other modes due to wider spaces.

    To beat a Zeus depends on mode and team comps. Most modes you have to wait for Zeus' tanks to be engaged then go after him, usually a job best for a Jungler type. If no Jungler type goes after Zeus, then he is going to do decent or better. In Conquest, the Jungler and sometimes Support should rotate early if Zeus goes anywhere past say one third the distance from the safety of his towers early. Even if not killed early, the more you make him dive back to his tower safety zone early, the better, you slow his farm and he has a harder time getting ahead. Any Zeus in Conquest able to roam early beyond one third past his tower safety zone is the fault of the opposing team not knowing and/or doing the early punishment.

    I know this from playing as, with and against Zeus in several modes.

    Zeus also doesn't like Siege much either.

    Ok zeus has damage, but that's all he has. He has very little cc and no escape. He's miserable to play in conquest coz he can easily get steamrolled in the midlane vs other mages because of the two cons I've listed above.
    Pros are going to opt for mages that have combinations of all 3 of those, as well as healing.
