Truth be told if we get Bumba then I much rather they change Bumba's Mask to Barong's Mask. Since we have Rangda's Mask now, the obvious counterpart should be Barong's; the two were enemies and pretty much fought each other in Bali mythology, and it really only makes sense from a mythos standpoint. Bumba has nothing to do with Rangda and they're not even part of the same mythos.

Though...this is quite interesting. A pantheon that isn't necessarily beheld to a single mythology opens much room for variation and allows HR a wider palette of gods from varying mythologies to join in.

But if we're getting Loa, I only pray that there are people on the design team that know about Shin Megami Tensei so they sneak in a few references.
I'm pretty much trying to reclaim my lost ELO and sticking to a few gods rn. Mostly playing Cern and maybe Daji.

If you ask for balance changes on a god without a reason that can be properly justified, then this is the place to train for persuasion.

I know what I have become... I am the inside of this world... I taste the gore, and I smell the crying... AND I WANT MORE! I want to bathe in your flesh, I want to savor your fear. I wanna live inside a castle built of your agony, AND I WANT TO CRUMBLE IT WITH AN AXE TO YOUR CAROTID ARTERY!

Chris makes the comment about the third pantheon around the 23 minute mark.

she can do 1000 dmg at level 3 by just her 2-and passive
her 3 should be more like medusa moving backwards movement penalty reduced only by 50%
Her ult now is her 2 but with lower damage but same cooldown!

While it would be nice to have an Sub-Saharan African pantheon from Africa, not the Americas, I see where they're coming from. Should they choose any specific religion, they would be restricted to Bantu, Yoruba, Niger etc. Voodoo, being a syncretic religion, can include all of those and some original figures. Also, Voodoo is something everyone has heard of, unlike specific African ethnic religions.

But bringing obscure figures to the public view is part of the beauty of subject matters like mythology. You get to show cool stuff that people haven't heard of. Sometimes, that causes obscure things to become mainstream.

I would have preferred that the point of origin was a bit farther removed in the timeline of history. Even though it's relative: the Norse, Celtic, Roman, and Japanese are a fair bit younger than the Egyptian, Greek, Chinese, and Hindu pantheons, but they still feel far removed.

Compared to Voodoo, that's not so much the case as there's a lot of diffusion from modernity. Whereas archaic African folk religions do.

    +1

It should not be the case that foreign things, as in unheard among dominant perspectives, are excluded from the mainstream.

They should have gone with Yoruba as the African pantheon. It is relatively well known, and time wise fits with SMITE. It is also a major influence of Voodoo and other Afro diasporic religions, if not the main one.

    When I look at this:

I still don't understand why Voodoo? Why not African, Polynesian, Aztec or Mesopotamian?
What can Voodoo Pantheon offer except Baron Samedi?
    My God/Goddess concepts:
Eris - Goddess of Chaos / Skadi - Goddess of Winter / Zhinu - Goddess of Clouds

Lists of all Smite forum concepts:
    CELTIC / EGYPTIAN / GREEK+ROMAN / NORSE

They haven't even finished the Celtic pantheon and they want to add two more?
