    Excessive rubber banding

For a while now, I've been having pretty bad rubber banding issues, sometimes mild, the occasional spike, sometimes every 5 seconds. Though I can most of the time play through it, it is getting very annoying to have to deal with it everytime, so I was wondering if someone here knows what could be up and/or how it can be fixed

    What I know or tried:
My internet connection is not the problem, smite runs fine on laptops on the same network, also other games perform fine on this PC

I tried repairing and reinstalling smite, which fixed nothing

    Computer information:
It's not the newest computer, given, but since it used to run smite without problems, I figure it should still be able to run it without these obnoxious lag spikes

    -OS: Windows 8.1
    -processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4440 CPU @ 3.10GHz
    -RAM: 4,00 GB
    -64 bit

When I play I ensure that RAM-intensive programs (e.g. google chrome) are closed.

If anyone needs more information or knows what may be up here, please let me know!
