    Are there supports?

Hi everyone, I'm cyberNurgle and as the new guy I've got a question. Now I've played mobas before (like LoL) and decided to give Smite a go. Normally I gravitate to the Supports (Soraka/Thresh/Bard main here) but I noticed from the god list that you don't have any. Are they called something else and I'm just being blind? Or am I s.o.l. here? Thanks in advance!

since you are new to smite i wiill give you a run down..

first off welcome to smite.. second to the forums

in smite supports are called guardians with warriors coming a close second. guardian mains as people are called. guardian mains are rare in smite and should be valued... support is not so easy since blinking and hitting every one of ares chains to then ulting is somthing that not everyone can do.Just watch arror when he takes out ares.

if people slag you off for being a support main claiming that its the easiest role in smite then tell them to get bent, At some point you will learn every character with some amazing characters in each class.. learning every class in smite is awesome, so dont always stick to supports because the game is much more. i can carry some games as an ADC but im a support main so yeah. its rare but does happpen

people to watch on support mains are, wubbn, emilzy, jeff, arror and incon, some others i cant remember. these are on twitch.com and are pro players, you can watch whoever you want but they will give you the basic idea of a support and what he does because even though you are a support and its 'easy'. learning the game isn't so easy, for example attack canceling. counter building.

watching arror i learned that hitting gebs basic then shielding and hitting another basic is a thing.

i asked jeff once for athena tips and he said try and pull in more people in team fights dont look to pull in just 1 person

sstuff like that is great and wil make you a better player just by watching and asking for advice

hope this helped.. i went off topic a bit but because you are new i though i would add some in.. gl

But playing bacchus is not hard.. or Ares.. or oh come on, do I need to call all of them.
AA cancel is a common thing, even for guardians?
Taunting more gods than 1 is another common thing?
iRaffer is a good support too? not to mention he's funnier?

hitting ares chains after you blink is hard when enemy is juking and if 2 are low health you might try hit both.

i said i learned to AA cancel with geb, im not sure if AA cancel is a thing im just saying its there. something i never knew about and wish somone had pointed out sooner.

i did say i might have missed some. i only quoed the ones i could think of off top of my head just to start him off.

Well they are technically all tanks. However, some of the guardians are true SUPPORTS while others aren’t. Examples of actual supports include Artio, Fafnir, Ganesha, Geb, Khepri, etc.

There are also some mage gods who have healing: Aprodite and Hel which can be used as a support. But imo they are difficult to play well because they are squishy. But in the hands of a skilled player they can be viable.

There are Gods who have more supportive abilities then others.

Aphrodite is a mage with a lot of supportive abilities. Increased ms and dmg for partner, an aoe pushback, a invul for a few sec and a heal.

Most of the guardians, some of the warriors are supportive in their kits then a few mages and few hunter/assassin can be regarded as supportive as well. (check Guan, Cupid, serqet, change)

its kind of hard to explain, but enchantress in league, are mages in smite, different, role, that kind of support doesn't exist in smite well aphro, hell change are like your jainas, sorakas and so on, but there not too viable in the main mode, there ok in arena,

guardians are essentially tanks, there your ali's your blitz , rakan, your threshe's, in smite your gold is shared so they can manage to be tanky they usually have aoe cc sometimes, or some super hard cc, basically they cause a lot of annoyance if left unchecked, and nobody wants to fuck with a tank, then you have warriors(solo laners) they are like your singes, renektons, garens, they get really tanky, and can do some damage, they have mobility, there stricky, but there cc is more single target, they basically harrass people, they have more damage then your guardians,

but your role in league may change here, see how you go though, support can be hard because when your playing with bad players they won't take advantage of your space created, but with good players, they hang of your every move, you have to make plays as a support, basically your a set up, and solo laners are the dont fuck with me bulldozers,
