Thread: Nerf Discordia (Goddess of Strife) (that and one shots)

    Nerf Discordia (Goddess of Strife) (that and one shots)

    So i am just going to come out and way what everyone is thinking... Discordia has a very unique kit, powerful abilities, and incredibly short cooldown.

    Here is how it looks in game... she clicks her 2 rooting the enemy or forcing multiple players to attack each other (doing 900+ damage endgame), clicks her 1 and one shot anyone (except tanks). Her ultimate, spreads the effect and damage to teammates that are too close to the person effected (which is cool, but should have reduced damage when spread). Now you might say that i am just angry at the god... or that I don't know something about her... let me be specific here, she does too much damage and can fight the whole enemy team by her self (remember Artio on release, yeah like that but not tanky... just nukes enemy players "one shots").

    Now on to her abilities and what could be changed to balance her out...
    ------

    Lets start with her #3 ability [Erratic Behavior], now the invisibilty, dodge, movement speed, and cooldown reduction make her very strong. The optimal build is to get as much cooldown as possible... 30-40% cooldown. This allows her #1, and #2 to have a 3 second cooldown (-15s cooldown reduction) while in her [Erratic Behavior]. The problem is that while in her 3, if she is damaged she stays invisible, she moves very quickly around in it, and her abilities can be used far too often.

    So now some possible changes that could make this god's #3 more balanced...

    1. Remove the cooldown that it gives PERIOD... it is far too strong when fighting anyone squishy.
    2. Reduce the amount of damage she does in her 3 by (X)% but the cooldown can stay the same (x= an amount between 20-50%)
    3. Remove her dodge and movement speed and allow enemies to see her if she takes any damage.
    ->These are just a few recommendations.

    Now her #1 [Unruly Magic] and #2 [Strife]. Simply reduce their scaling percentage just a tad bit (like 10-20% less) so that when she gets to spam both abilities while in her #3, the enemy team doesn't get straight up one shot.

    On to her Ultimate [Golden Apple of Discord] now this ability is cool. It can bounce, spread to other enemy players and do a lot of AOE damage from far away. Now i think how it can be used is fine right now, but some of the effects should be changed up a bit...

    Right now her ult can hit an enemy god dealing the full damage then 'CAN" spread to other players where it does the same amount damage as when it first hit. A possible change, which would make it more likely to be able to fight her (without just getting killed), is to reduce the damage the ultimate's spread damage will deal (from like 30-50% reduction to it's damage based on where you where in the circle when it spread to you similar to Poseidon's ult circles).

    Lastly... Discordia's Passive [Contest of Gods] this is really cool, but can make any player that is already really fed... even more deadly. Giving such a massive amount of damage based on their type of damage (Physical or Magical) is a bit too much... Simply reduce the amount of power it gives the top Damage player (like reduce it by 30-50% of what it is currently... it's like having a full item's worth of damage increase for FREE).


    Review: Discordia is a really unique and fun to play god... but as of right now it is really hard to fight against her (especially in the mid to endgame). She just needs a Nerf or possible rework as soon as possible to make it much more viable to fight her (the only time she isn't broken is if your team is really, really fed against her).

    On a scale from 1-10 on Balance (10 being completely balanced, and 1 being unstoppable), currently she would be a solid 3. Once she is decently nerfed (and I don't mean nerfing her scaling by 5%, that is not really a nerf, but rather a tweak)... enemy teams might have a chance of winning, but until then she will dominate matches easily (as long as players click and stand in their 3, then click the 2, and 1).

    they just dont bother playtesting new gods anymore. Hachiman was silly, but was doable. Same with everygod ever. Artio was super stupid but even then if you were better you could easily beat her. Discordias range and damage is the dumbest thing i have ever see. She has the range, damage, and she doesnt even have to aim for the entire game.

    Typical new god, OP af and will be nerfed for another half year or more.
    Imo HR should do another ban line especially for new gods(aka half year old), like 2 bans for each side.
    This feeling when your team is far behind and you have no prospects for late game but for some reason players still doesnt want to surrender - MOBA Cancer.

    try fighting people that dont build 6 offensive items and see if shes op

    you literally have only 2 abilities and even an assassin with a single tank item will survive and kill you with auto attacks


    asking for nerf on her would mean that you're implying that shes the strongest mage in smite since you're not asking for a nerf on another god (and if there's a god that you consider stronger than her then you should start asking for nerfs from the top, not from middle of the pack where she is) so considering discordia the single strongest mage in the entire game is just plain stupid and silly

    her dmg is ok vs full glass cannon people and that's it, and even then it's still lower than half of the mages in smite

    Hachiman isn't even that OP a all.

    Her early game lane and minion camp clear is too strong. The bouncy stars can be somewhat aimed at a minion line, and most camps are in an enclosed space so they just bounce off all the walls and multi hit, in addition it's pretty safe (not like say ah puch who has to sit there rooted). Late game I reserve judgement, plenty of mages are deadly then...

    Maybe just adjust the damage on her 1 from the initial hit to the secondary projectiles, like 45% on initial hit but 15% on the 6 projectiles. She would have the same damage but it would just be harder to hit. And they could also make the ult deal like 75% damage on the extra explosions when it spreads to different gods. The only thing other than that, maybe have the CDR on her 3 be toned down a bit.

    She's not even that op, people don't get the fact that her damage is just average if you look at her numbers. Also, you can easily dodge her 1's stars by standing in a space where they don't hit. Then you can easily counter her 2 and ult by standing a bit further from your allies.

    The only op part about her is her 3's cooldown reduction. Tone it down and it's ok.

    Also, her cooldowns are not even remotely short on their own, what the heck? That's a lot of exaggeration right there. Even with full cdr the cooldowns are long.

    maybe if you shouldnt have spent the time complaining..i mean writing all this information about her and instead invested that time in learning how to play against her.

    I can agree with the being damaged removes stealth, it would be similar to other stealth gods, ie. Loki, Serqet, and the Morrigan.
