Pyre looked good though nice trailer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jBbq6c9EEQ

Also I'm not sure it deserves to get my vote.

Smite is a great game I love it, its the game of the decade.

But as an esport in its current state? I still enjoy dota 2 to watch. There is millions in viewers and prize money.
    SMITE doesnt deserve anything.

Why do you need 60 FPS? The human eye can only see 64 megabytes of RAM.

It repeats as a common pattern.

It's hardly a significant attempt. That backlog stretches longer than the noses of wooden puppets and you can see that even recent comments are ignored.

That thread has one real purpose: it is a quick tool of placation to veil non-involvement.

They comment there once monthly, bi-monthly, or whatever. Then it's suddenly all "good" for some reason, but the public mood sees straight through that as it remain lastingly negative. Heck, every time the community team gets criticized somewhere on these forums or elsewhere, they will go there for a non-significant time and then nothing happens again for a month plus. We shall see if that's the case again (as was with HiRezAmanda, HiRezSavvy, and HiRezDavid).
Our comments will not be as rare as monthly or bi-monthly anymore. I can guarantee it. And that's fine if my guarantee isn't enough, we will just have to let time pass to see what actually happens.

But I can tell you the very first thing I do when I get in for work is read over these forums for about 30 minutes. I check them often throughout the day too. I will be here talking with you guys.

lol - Smite has no chance, the vote basically goes to the game with the biggest community. Anyway voting is about raising the profile of the game, which raises the number of players which gives hirez more money to invest in the game, which leads to a better game.

However this thread mostly seems to be about people refusing to vote in protest because the game makers don't do X, which they won't be able to do if they have less money, which is a side effect of refusing to vote.

I think here we have a case of cutting off nose to Smite face.

No man the vote was part of like 20 votes. And it didn't sit right with me just clicking on things randomly until I came to the smite vote so I took my time trying to figure out what to actually vote. And when I got to the smite question I realized I'm only half way through and already spent like 15min. Also best esport game smite vs csgo and dota 2. Its not really a contest. I used to play dota 2 but smite is way more fun, though I'd say dota 2 is more spectator friendly AND has better casters and extra fluff in their broadcasting giving it a better all round feeling following it. csgo I played cs like 15 years ago it was good but nothing I play these days, still I'd argue its a better esport then smite given prize money etc however unlike dota it is a much worse spectator esport then both dota 2 and smite, very hard to get into and understand as someone who doesn't play cause u don't know the maps and there really is no way to have good camera in csgo to get a good overview of what is going on. SO yeah smite is a bit better then csgo I'd say all things considered but dota 2 is just the better esport at the moment hands down, no contest. Point me to a vote for game of the decade and I give smite my vote.

I think it's a pity that "our comments" alludes to a few representing the collective whole of the community team (which in turn should repre-...), rather than frequent engagement from every individual of that team. I suppose so.

Besides that, I did say that I do not place much weight on words, but that has the implicit context of "what's said" and "what's done" conflicting with each other. There's not much reason to doubt your guarantee in that regard.

You're doing a good job. I can see the effort to involve and engage people.

As much as I appreciate MLC being here as the next man, that is just a drip on hot stone. What else is HiRez going to do to make the Forums be a more attractive/interesting/important place for people to visit if they need something or need to get off something off of their back.

Him being here every now and then doesn't do that. The forum needs a complete make over, the layout and interface needs to be redone in a way that is more functional but also more clean and visually pleasing.

Some extra incentives wold also help, do some actual promotion for this thread. Have your developers mention/talk about them more often.

And for the love of god, do something about that goddamn dev tracker. It is still so hidden that hardly anyone knows that it exists to the point that it might as well not exist in the first place.

Not that any devs are actually posting anything of actual interest in here.

I haven't heard of Pyre until now, but the game is made by the same developers who blessed us with Bastion and Transistor, so without knowing anything about the game, without having seen anything but the trailer just now I make the bold statement and say that Pyre is probably a brilliant game.

My faith in Supergiant Games is actually that strong.

I think the Narrator in that Trailer was the same guy that also voiced Rukks who was the Narrator for Bastion. That alone is a win in my book already.

You don't have to vote for each thing - I just ignored most of the categories and only voted when there were games I cared about. Took about 3 mins.

    Functional?

At least it is impossible to set the bar lower than the time when the forums was literally broken (unable to log in or edit posts at random times) over the course of a month under HiRezAmanda, HiRezSavvy, and HiRezDavid's... uhmmm, yeah... watch.

I'm still waiting for the implementation of a "remember me" option in the login page, so we can stay logged in and not constantly need to relog. I guess the examination for such a thing didn't happen (as one of them said it would) or they are unable to implement such a feature.

    I don't have high hopes.
