    New Relic - Empowering Dagger

    So I want a Relic with a lower CD, that rewards being aggressive.


    Hence, Empowering Dagger.

    After activating this Relic, you take 15% of your Max HP as true damage, and gain a Buff.

    This Buff gives your next damaging Ability +35% Damage.

    This Buff lasts 20 seconds or until you cast an Ability that deals damage to an enemy God. It is not used up if you miss. The buff also applies to the damage dealt to every God, not just one.

    This Relic has a 60 second CD, and only goes on CD when the Buff goes away.

    The Upgrade-

    This Buff gives your next damaging Ability +40% Damage and +10% PEN. (stacks additively with Obsidian or Titan's)

    Regarding abilities like Rama Ult or Raijin Ult, or heck Scylla ult... does it count for the first instance of damage? or for multiple times?

    Also, Damage-wise, 40% flat increase, or 40% increase to scaling too?
    (note what I meant was like this:
    Zeus ult has 100 Base Damage per tick (at level 2) plus 50% scaling.. does that mean with that relic it'd be 140 per tick plus 50% scaling, or 140 per tick plus 70% scaling?)

    It applies for the whole thing

    Scylla may be an exception, as her ult reset could be considered a separate skill.

    Damage-wise, it works same way as Belt of Frenzy. It takes the full (Base + Power) and multiplies it by the damage buff.

    i think it's not a bad concept but definitively not a good idea. Relics got those long CDs because fights were a clown fiesta before, and a relic with such low CD that also doesn't start counting until the buff goes off would be pretty broken, even so risk-reward one. But my best reason to disagree is Hirez balance, specially with relics. Currently you just see Thorns everywhere. Before it was Undoing. And before, Sunder. But you don't see them at the same time in the same game for the most part. Balance of last relics was particularly clumsy and I think their addition wasn't needed at all. One of them always eclipse the others. They seem impossible to balance and are just fancy. A carry don't usually need more than Beads and Aegis, recent incorporations as Undoing are unnecessary. The last useful and fair relic for me, Phantom Veil. I think they should not add more, if not erase some of them.

    All being said, I don't think your idea is bad in essence with the proper balance, it's just I don't believe we need more relics.

    What we need is more relic diversity so we don't see 4 aegises, 4 beads, 1 shell, and 1 sprint every game. Or whatever.

    Also, the fact that the CD starts after the buff's gone is a drawback. If you fail to use it it has an 80 second effective CD and you lost 15% hp for nothing.

    I think we have enough diversity right now. What we need is they all are viable. It's not true we need more relics, what you're right about is just few of them are good enough to be used.

    That system also made your build come online slower and the game slower for that reason. I maybe didn't explain myself all right. There is maybe not a ton of relics, but I think they're more than enough for the different purposes you may want such feature in this game and we even have some I consider unnecessary. I think the addition of more relics just contribute to unbalance the current ones and make the balance harder as you must admit that happened this season.

    You are maybe right there are not 'so many' relics but I think the incorporation of new ones for no obvious and real need makes no good to meta.
