    Question New Player Questions

So a link said this was where to ask questions on playing Smite that I just installed and started today.

If I finish the whole Tutorial, will I be able to replay it again or does it disappear?

After the Tutorial, where is there additional information needed to know? I once saw a YouTube video of someone who had critique that the Tutorial did not explain everything and I like to get all the knowledge possible.

Why does it take a while to load up? Is that normal?

You can play the tutorial as much as you like, it never goes away.

Well, there's wikis, YouTube channels and these forums (As well as Reddit) to get additional information.

It's normal. It's because of the EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) system that is in place, it takes a while to load because of that. Before they implemented that it used to load a lot faster.

    Thanks.

Why do the Conquest and Clash Tutorials not allow choosing Neith?
I can only choose from the other 4 starting gods and then my team winds up 1 short making a 4 v 5 match.
    Is this intentional?

If you're on PC, I believe Athena and Neith have both been disabled while they fix a game-breaking bug with their ultimates (both use global player targeting).

Looks like the Hotfix fixed it as Neith was usable.
However due to how much I suck at this game, I am leaving it.
    Thanks.

You will suck at this game so don't worry. We all sucked at some point.. I just played with a guy who bmed me over him not sucking. But sucked bad.

You will start off sucking and probably get worse. Just joking but the matchmaking makes you feel like your going backwards.

Things to do in order to get better

Watch streams. Any streamer will give advice. Twitch.tv. Follow pro streamers.
Link up your account for free stuff when you watch hirez streams
Follow the hirez pro scene on hirez twitch
Try and find a good solid group or party up with somone better. A clan/group. Ask for build advice etc

Gl on your journey and welcome to smite

My advice is starting with assault. It eliminates the try hard smurfs that wanna own people in arena (or conq) with x God. It eliminates try hard comps. Also in assault people are generally much nicer then in arena and conq. Since it balances team and comp for you (and sometimes does a shitty job) chances are you can win even as a noob cause ure team just got a lot better Gods then their team and you as a noob can sit back and watch what is going on and go in at your own pace. As its a bit of assault mentality that some games simply cannot be won due to unfavorable God comp people are not so angry with loosing hard.

Other pros with assault for noobs are that its constant 5v5 pushing. You learn how to support your team, you learn the initiation ranges by different Gods, which is like the most crucial part of smite. Cause once you overstep you will get initiated on so you learn quickly vs 5 gods in every match the ranges you cannot go into without dying. Where in conquest you only face 2 Gods and if you loose hard there and fall behind nothing else is a good measuring stick for how the game really works (as level difference means you take more and deal less dmg). You learn what the different item does as you see them picked up by others in the game. At each death you also have plenty time to contemplate what to build and what went wrong, cause the only thing you gotta do once respawn is heading back to your team. For example in arena you might get 2 sec respawn timer and that is not enough time for a noob to "regroup" and think of items.

Other modes have warding, arena with its special kind of "flow", jungles and whole lot of other things you gotta take in. All things a more experienced player can abuse to make your smite experience even harder.

I think Hi rez would do a good job in directing noobs to assault after the tutorial, for many reasons I think its the most noob friendly mode. That is where I started and I had a great time there before going to arena. I still never forget my first Ra game walking up the lane trying out my skills and wasting half my mana. I never forget the first Poseidon I faced and couldn't wait to play that God.

And lastly it takes a pretty long time to get good at smite. There is a lot to learn, how to move, position, what you can kill and not. How to escape. etc. Its what makes this game truly great but it is also what makes it not very noob friendly.

As a noob in smite going right in conquest is just a mess, self torture, mission impossible. Don't do this.

Hi rez should lock accounts to assault until x level (say lv 3 or 5). Then open arena, clash, siege and joust. And at x level it should open conquest and motd as well. So its clear that some modes need vastly more experience with the game then the others so have a decent time.
