I cannot agree and here is why:
1) Its only 4 wins per week if you do not pay any favor
2) Difference between event "win to get" and permament "win to get" is that ppl would stop care about tryhard comp after week cause how many times you would pick this same few gods over and over again only to farm mostly some avatars/recolors or emotes?
Doesnt matter how bad or good you are, matchmaking win rate work at around 50%, you can have bad strike like 5-6 loss in a row but then you can get 5-6 win in a row giving you 5-6 chests(if used with favor) in 1-2 days.Well if you are good at the game and can actually win this is a great thing for you. If you are me you will probably never see one of these.
That recent 3 win of the day avatar chest event that was in Smite? Didn't manage to get a single one XD
I really dont see any problems with this chest system, free stuffs for players who likes Smite and playing it regular is always appreciated.
