Biggest issue with Celtic, Mayan etc is unfamiliarity - all popular requests are for bigger known names like a Hera or Achilles, Set or Horus etc. To be blunt the boring gods who they've heard of Vs far more interesting niche options. New pantheon would have same issue - whinging about smaller pantheons featuring whilst everyone demands Egyptian god number 3532 lol
I see the merits in both, and I enjoy both "I know that guy, cool to see him/her in Smite" and "Huh, never heard of him, looks neat tho." But getting to know obscure mythological figures through a video game is a cool experience.

I think they should avoid adding a new pantheoon this year... I fact i thought the same about the celtics before they decided to add them. But if they finnaly decide to add a new pantheon i'll wish for either Aztec or Mesopotamian. Or rather Mesopotamian... because i think they should've added them earlier... maybe among the default pantheons. Babilon/Sumer/Akkad/Assyria had some great names among their pantheons. Adding separate pantheons for Babilon and Sumer like the Greek and Roman thing is not really necessary.

The only pantheon I'd like to see is Sumerian or Babylonian. One of those. Otherwise, no, just no. Add more to Japanese, Mayan and Hindu first. Delete Rome if possible. Then convert Mercury, Bacchus and Vulcan to Hermes, Dionysus and Hephaestus on the Greek pantheon.

    Oh boy.

Anyways, if they ever made a new pantheon, I'd like to see Native American, but you'd come across problems since each tribe had different gods or variations of gods.

LoL. Why Native Americans? You said it yourself, it's gonna give devs headaches. No to no-name pantheons please. And the reason I don't want Rome there is because they're just Greeks 2.0.

There are so many pantheon choices to choose from if they want to add more:
    1. African Yoruba Gods
    2. Welsh Gods
    3. Hittite Gods
    4. Sumerian Gods

Personally I hope we don't get another next year. They should focus on fleshing out the Japanese and Celtic pantheons a little more along with giving the pantheons who haven't had a god in a while some more love e.g the Norse pantheon's last god was Fafnir who came out a year ago now.
Gimme more of them Norse, Celtic, Slavic and Arthurian gods and we'll be gucci bro.

I don't care if they add a new pantheon next year but if they do, they'd better add Sumerian or Slavic.

They share gods but not all gods and they have different background stories. So it doesn't make sense to delete a whole pantheon. Beside, that would remove Bellona and that ain't happening.
Native or Slavic would be great but challenging additions. Baba Yaga for first Slavic.

Now hold on, that same poll you keep citing suggests by your reasoning that a Mesopotamian pantheon was one of the least-wanted; certainly less so than Celtic. Now you're being inconsistent with what you're claiming.

Delete Rome if possible. Then convert Mercury, Bacchus and Vulcan to Hermes, Dionysus and Hephaestus on the Greek pantheon.
HR themselves have acknowledged that, canonically, these pantheons are one and the same. The Roman pantheon allows them to add gods with no Greek counterpart, such as Janus or Sylvanus.

Being that they added various different European mythologies under the "Celtic" label, they'd ultimately do the same with "Native American." It's a questionable decision, but it's apparently what they're intent on doing.
