When the time-threaded course of the Nile was once a vast Ocean, and when Darkness of primal origins once dimmed the skies above, it was mighty Khnum that forged the path to creation. As once, did he bellow his voice, thus dispelled the darkness. His incessant stampedes gave rise to the mud flats that would be the basis of the world. And he, the Father of the Nile, did father so many other things, one of which would rise above all: humans. As his grace spread across the vast emptiness, so too did the Nile carve its way across the Chaos, giving rise to the many empires of man. Though their empires rose and fell, Khnum kept the river running.

The river offered bounties to those who would respect its time-threaded course, its seasonal floodings gave the people of the Pharoah a healthy subsistence on the grains that grew by the shoreline. Though often forgotten, Khnum is kept busy by spinning the eternal pottery, forming men of all shapes and sizes. Thus, he shared this profound gift with mothers, in hopes that they too spread creation around the world. As one of the four aspects of Men, he represented the joyous emotions of Creation and the bountiful force that spreads like the Nile Delta. As the guardian of the Nile, he delivers justice to those men who would use the Nile as their means of survival. One trodden stomp and he could swell the riverbanks, a leap could cause an innundation, and a trudge could bring forth the healthiest of crops.

As master of the Nile, and its protector, he delights in nothing more than spreading the seeds of creation wherever he goes. And while this is a gift which he has seen less of, he offers hope to those who would respect its power, and punish those who cross it without due respect. For the Nile must continue its time-threaded course, and Khnum its benefactor.
