I tried to post this to the Wine HQ forums, but I got rejected on the basis of 'Advertisement'.

You can get the game to install under Wine if you follow this procedure:

    - Install Dotnet 3.5 SP1
    - Install Dotnet 4.0
    - Install Flashplayer (not sure which one of these solves the problem, but there's nothing bad on installing both)
    - Install Flashplayer ActiveX (Current winetricks download is broken, you need to go to Adobe Website and download the latest version for Internet Explorer (Windows 7))
    - Install DirectX 9 - full
    - Install DirectX 11
    - Install XACT
    - Install VC2008
    - Install VC2010
    - Install GDI+

    IMPORTANT!
The patcher server has an invalid certificate. You will ALWAYS need to set your system date (updating, playing) between 2011 and 2013 until they fix it.

After setting your date, run the normal installer from Smite website. It should start the service without problems and start downloading the game.

PD: Also, if you don't set the correct date, the launcher will make sure your system freezes so that you notice .

    IMPORTANT!
If you want to copy a windows installation, make sure to run the installers listed on Hi-Rez Studios/HiRezGames/smite/installscript.vdf manually.

These should install all the necessary prerequisites.

To run the launcher, you have to execute the following commands:
    net start HiPatchService
    <path>/Hi-Rez Studios/HiRezLauncherUi.exe game=300 product=17

I myself did everything under a Play On Linux sandbox, but feel free to do it on your own setup.

I opened a ticket to get the certificate issue solved, number: #150524-000184.

    UPDATE:

Set the video memory of your graphics device and the game should start

I play dota2, starcraft2 on linux, I do not want to boot windows
I would be nice if Smite will work natively on linux.

    Hi guys !
I've finally found a way to play Smite on Linux !
It's a Playonlinux script, that can be used either on linux or Mac
    Here's the link : https://github.com/rolandoislas/SmiteInstallScriptPOL
Just download the script and run it on PoL

I've tried it today and it seems to work perfectly.
One tip : you have to download the installer before running the script.
In the end, it says that smite needs to be fix, just click on "fix", validate the install and it's going to run alright

GL HF and see you soon in the game !

    +1 linux/steamOS support

I've tried Smite in wine but game often crashes or I run into bugs (can't buy items during game)
