Would be great if anybody from Hi rez would comment and let us know if they're atleast looking into it. I mean how hard would it be to just get it working with Wine?

My situation is as follows: Once SteamOS is fully operational and minimal on bugs I'm probably going to say "Goodbye, Windows" forever, since, as pretty as it may be, it's pretty crappy in terms of general performance. Maybe I'll still use Windows 5% of the time, but I don't want to miss out on SMITE just because I switch OS. Linux IS the future of gaming and that cannot be changed.

I hope the devs will finally realize that just like Valve itself moves gaming into a new generation. Screw Microsoft, Sony and whoeverelse that pay companies to make games only available on their console. I just want one gaming station running on one operating system with different options. Valve seems to go into the right direction in my eyes. A console is just a overly-expensive low-end PC so why not make games for PC with full controller support? That would make everyone (besides the companies owning the consoles) happy. Also no more pay-for-internet services like Shitbox-Live.
Yes, I own a PS3, yes I own an XBOX360, but gaming belongs to the PC for a reason since you cannot make games without computers.

I highly doubt that it will ever happen, but I'm all in for linux support.
It kinda sucks to boot into windows just to play smite.
