    New Mode Ideas

    First off, a sub-mode for Arena. Arena is fine and all I guess, but it's based around the minions getting in. What we need, is pure, unadulterated god combat. So, why not give Arena sub modes. When you get a match, the match would be random between several different types. They wouldn't differ too much.

    Arena: Pure 5v5
    Same as normal Arena, except there's no minions, and respawns are 2 seconds for the entire game. If the timer goes over 15 or 20 minutes, sudden death is enabled. Dead players do not respawn, and the first team to lose all 5 players loses.

    Probably others.

    Catacomb/Labyrinth : 10 player free for all.
    So, the map would be circular, like Arena. Except, it would be full of walls and corridors. The theme for it would be metal/gritty, floors having grates, walls having lights. Overall the map would be dark. A variant of the map would be just a circular and empty map, no walls. Players spawn half way between the center and edge. When the match begins, it would choose between the two maps randomly, or players can vote.

    All players would be able to pick their own god (Potentially, everyone could pick Vulcan, as they're each their own team.). When the match starts, they would be placed around randomly, but not within view range of each other (So around a corner and a bit). When a player died, their respawn would start at 2 seconds, getting higher the longer their killstreak is, up to a maximum of 10 seconds.

    Matches would end at 20 minutes, and the player with the most kills wins.

    Objective Based Mode:

    Team works together to complete various objectives. To keep a competitive aspect, another team may be present, and the team to do it faster wins. Would not show up in history or affect stats, but may have a separate score, for people playing it seriously. Two players seems like a good team size.

    Obstacle Course style: Lets say and two objective themes are chosen for the map. Lets say half of it has focus around stealth, and the other half is focused around aim. A team for both teams would be chosen for this, so in this case, Loki and Hou Yi. The map would be generated, and each player would need to use their god to it's strengths to complete various objectives. Example, there is a gap and a target, Hou Yi needs to use ricochet to hit it, without having a targeter to see where he's aiming. The map wouldn't be curved, but rather, smooth and angled.

    Completing objectives may be required to open pathways previously not accessible (Escapes on gods would be disabled, until required in the course.).

    A comparison that some people might get, think Warframe trials, for ranking up.

    Perhaps something with a bit of co-op based PvE?

    Not the bot matches, but something akin to an RPG, where you had to work together as a team to complete various objectives?

    It would help reinforce teamplay, and give people a nice change of pace to the constant PvP focus (I know that's the point of the game, but I'd like to see something like this with the characters in smite)

    On that note, while you people talk about the different ideas, make sure to drop your own suggestions and I'll add them to the OP.

    A Pve oriented mode, I'm not really sure how you could pull that off. It might work with some changes to the way abilities work. Could be something like two seperate teams need to work together to complete objectives, with various hazards. Like, areas of the map where you fall off, slows, damage. Hitting targets with different gods (The course has various large gaps, each team has a Hou Yi (Both teams would be identical and picked by course, not by the players)), i.e with Hou Yi, you need to hit a target over a gap, and don't get the targeter for Ricochet.

    While it would reinforce teamplay, and not focus on fighting other players, it would still have a competitive aspect to get people wanting to play it. Although it would need some degree of random generation, (i.e Warframe levels), or people would be able to memorize it.

    I definitely like the obstacle course idea.

    Also perhaps something for the stealth game dirtbags that like to play Ao Kuang, Loki, and have to either sneak by, or kill targets extremely quickly to complete various other objectives on the map?
