Chest luck is unbelievable

So i really wanted a exclusive skin and i rolled the Musketeer chest (because the chance of getting a exclusive skin there is 1/2). First roll: Nox skin, unlucky. Second roll: Zeus skin, unlucky. Third roll (with a chance of 3/4 to get an exclusive): Xbalanque skin, unlucky. I was kind of pissed of because i literally wasted 1200 gems to get an exclusive and all i got was 3 skins that are worth 400 gems.
But wait reader of this post, the best is yet to come. I told this to my mate and he decided to have a Musketeer chest roll aswell. Guess what happened? I think you can already tell: my mate did 1 roll = the exclusive Artemis skin... He laughed about it 3 days long and he doesn't even play Artemis.

How is the chest luck exactly determined? I think it's kind of strange that this happened.

but yeah chests are stupid that is why i only get purchasable skin not the ones that you get by a coincidence.
