Divine Ruin is a good item

Everyone says Divine Ruin is crap compared to brawlers. Stat wise, it is but on gods like Agni, you can easily refresh the effect with little effort.

unlike beatstick, Ruins effect can be used with aoe, so you don't have to aim as much like an AA. It shuts down AOE healers in team fights way better.

The thing is cheap and it is a good item. its situational but don't underestimate it.

Can a mod merge this into the Hel is killed or something thread?

A discussion already propped onto this thread to the point of unable to merge plus it's a different subject to Hel. - Miyobi

I would rather the item give good stats like Brawlers and cost more than have it have the garbage stats for small cost currently.

The Item is still a very weak item slot for used for quite a lot of gold.

I prefer pestilence since it counters healing for a similar amount and also gives a substancial amount to health and protections, which in turn also help you box better with said healing gods than Divine Ruin would.

That's true but a guardian/warrior could build it and it's only 25% they don't stack if I remember correctly.

Divine Ruin and Pestilence definitely stack.

Pestilences don't stack with each other, but Pestilence and Divine Ruin do.

You can't say/guarantee that the guardian/warrior will have it in time and if you face the healer, chances are that you are warrior/guardian yourself.

Also, by buying that item yourself, you take of pressure from your guardian/warrior so that he can buy other Itms that advance his gamestate instead.

It's the ultimate form of healing reduction. Works very well in both Conquest and Arena, I've tested them out.
Actually back to Smite but my love for the forums isn't really the same anymore. May most likely not post god concepts again.

Why don't some people build Divine Ruin on Sobek or Bachus both have antiheals in their kit.

Warriors are the jack of all trades. Most can afford to swap an item. Healers can also buy the Rod of healing making pestilence only give -10% healing.

pestilence can do the job while giving the extra defense and health as guardians they benefit more from it.
Combined it's 50% most find that good enough.

For a Guardian, it sacrifices too much Tankiness and Power that Pestilence happens to give. Getting both of them on Guardians also doesn't make much sense, due to how much CC Guardians typically have, allowing them to make up for the lack of Healing Reduction (unless the enemy is nearly all Healers, then that's a different story).
Art is merely an extension of our imagination. A true artist imagines more than they draw, write, or even play; art may cause a revolution, but imagination causes the uproar.
